EPHC Therapy and Wellness Center moves to Delleker

Eastern Plumas Health Care announces that its Therapy and Wellness Center is moving to Delleker from its current location at 500 First Ave. in Portola. Plans currently estimate opening for the new center in late fall or early winter. The new address is 73815 S. Delleker Road.

EPHC points out that the Therapy and Wellness Center has been a cornerstone of its health delivery system to the community for both in-patient and out-patient services. It houses the largest and most diversified therapy team in Plumas and Sierra County, with services including specialized hand therapy, vestibular and cardiac rehabilitation, and pediatric occupational therapy.

Responding to recent growth in these programs, a three-year search has been in process to identify potential locations to better serve
the community, said EPHC. The Therapy and Wellness Center will also get to physically expand with this move to a new location.

“The new Therapy and Wellness Center will be a premier facility for community members needing rehabilitation services and will function as a new environment for staff to expand services, increase professional development and [support] client growth,” said Max Barroso, director of rehabilitation.

EPHC said the relocation is a strategic move that will allow for continued growth for rehabilitation services without requiring a large investment in capital funding, thereby maintaining EPHC funds for other infrastructure projects. In working with an architect, EPHC is considering initial thoughts for interior design elements that might include private treatment rooms, updated bathrooms, improved accessibility, a break room for staff, a large open-concept gym space, a separate space for wellness classes and a landscaped outdoor space.

The new Therapy and Wellness Center is set to include:

  • A 5,800-square-foot rehabilitation center, compared to the current location’s approximate 1,800 square feet.
  • A floor plan designed for specific treatment modality areas for physical, occupational, speech and pediatric therapy services.
  • Expanded outdoor areas for therapeutic modalities.
  • A specific area for community health and wellness programs and seminars.
  • Space for additional specialized therapy treatment equipment.
