LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — More than 50 pets received medical checkups on Friday at the Kentucky Humane Society’s CARE-a-van event at Oxmoor Auto Group.
KHS said the CARE-a-van mobile veterinary clinic visits neighborhoods throughout Kentucky to provide affordable pet care. Services currently include vaccines, heartworm tests, microchips, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and nail trims, pet wellness exams and spay/neuter surgery.
“We’re so grateful for our ever-evolving partnership with Oxmoor Auto Group. Last week, they sponsored a Pet Wellness day with our CARE-a-van Mobile Vet unit and with their help, we were able to provide 52 local pets with FREE vaccines and preventatives,” according a KHS statement.
The CARE-a-van works to bringing affordable pet wellness and spay/neuter services to Kentucky communities. The KHS website shows pricing for services including:
Dogs
- Dog wellness vaccine package (DA2PP, Bordatella, Rabies) – $48
- Puppy starter vaccine kit (DA2PP, Bordetella, dewormer) – $46
- DA2PP – $18
- Bordatella – $18
- Rabies – $12
- Flea & Tick – $20 for one month chewable or topical, $55 for 3 month chewable
- Heartworm preventative:
- One month – $10
- Dog Neuter – $90
- Dogs must be under 8 years of age and weigh less than 50 pounds
- Dog Spay – $110
- Dogs must be under 8 years of age and weigh less than 50 pounds
Cats
- Cat wellness vaccine package (FVRCP, Rabies) – $30
- Kitten vaccine starter kit with dewormer (FVRCP, dewormer) – $25
- FVRCP – $18
- Rabies – $12
- Revolution Plus (topical flea and tick) $20
- Cat Neuter – $70
- Cat Spay – $80
Wellness Check
- *Physical exam only for basic skin, eye, ear and other minor medical issues – $15
- Any treatments or prescriptions for medical issues that are diagnosed during the physical exam will be an additional fee. Please note that we are not a full-service veterinary clinic. If your pet has chronic health issues or is experiencing a medical emergency, please contact your primary veterinarian.
